We have raised 4 dogs for the guide dog program through Southeastern Guide dogs. www.guidedogs.org. And we are currently raising our fifth puppy.
Our first dog (Brax) graduated in May 2008 and is now a working guide dog in FL.
Our second dog (Frankie) returned to the guide dog school at the end of February 2009. But was "let go" (adopted out) due to severe allergies - so she is now living as a pet in FL.
Our third dog (Toby) returned to the guide dog school in April 2010 - and stayed in training to be a guide dog 'til October 2010. We then heard he had severe allergies and would be considered for another career. In December 2010, Toby decided his new career would be a Search in Rescue dog.
Our fourth dog (Rudy) returned to the guide dog school in May 2011 - he is currently in his last phase of advanced training and will hopefully be placed with a blind person soon!
Brandon is our fifth guide dog puppy that we currently have. We received Brandon in October 2011 and so far he's been a bundle of joy to raise! We look forward to raising him over the next year.
